Breaks are part of the attendance record. Here you'll find out how they are recorded and what to do if they don't match.
How Breaks Work
Dayswaps can record breaks in two ways — depending on your employer's settings:
Automatically — the system assigns a break automatically based on the shift length (e.g., 30 minutes for shifts longer than 6 hours)
Manually via terminal — the employee records the break themselves by clocking out and back in at the attendance terminal
Your manager will tell you which method your employer uses.
Where to See Your Break in the Record
1. Go to the My Attendance section in the left menu.
2. Click Columns in the top right and check Break.
3. In the columns next to each shift, you will see the recorded break time.
What to Do If the Break Doesn't Match
If the recorded break differs from reality:
1. Contact your manager and explain the difference.
2. The manager can correct the record in the administration.
3. If you have access to edit attendance, you can adjust the break yourself in the My Attendance section — see How to Review and Approve Your Attendance.
When Can I Edit the Break Myself?
Break editing can only be done after the shift has ended. While a shift is in progress, you cannot add or change a break. Once you clock out and the shift ends, the break will be available for editing in the record (if you have access to edit attendance).
So a break for an ongoing shift cannot be corrected "right now" — wait until the end of the shift.
