Intended for: Manager | Application: Mobile Application
Use this article when you need to create, publish, edit, or delete a shift in the mobile app. You'll also learn how to save a shift as a template for future use.
Creating a shift
In the mobile app, select a date, or tap the blue plus button in the top right corner.
Choose an existing template, or enter the shift details — the employee and shift time.
Keep the automatic break (for shifts over 6 hours), or set a manual break.
Choose whether to publish the shift right away, or just save it to the schedule and publish it later.
Publishing shifts in bulk
If you're scheduling several shifts at once, you don't have to publish them one by one. Wait until you're happy with the whole schedule, then publish them all together. You can also finish publishing from the web application.
Tip: You can tell a shift hasn't been published yet because its menu offers a "Publish" option.
For unpublished shifts, open the menu and select "Publish".
Choose who the shifts should be published to:
a specific person
a group of people in the same position
a group of people at the same location
everyone within a selected time period
Editing a shift
Once a shift has been worked, you may need to add overtime or adjust the working time or another item. Depending on your organization's settings, you may be able to edit shifts a few days back.
Open the shift detail.
Tap the pencil icon in the header to open editing.
Edit the required fields — for example, add overtime.
You can find more about entering overtime in the Entering Overtime article.
Deleting a shift
Warning: Deleting a shift cannot be undone — the employee will immediately lose it from the schedule.
Open the shift detail and tap the pencil icon in the header.
In the footer, select "More options".
Choose "Delete shift" and confirm the deletion.
Additional shift adjustments
Does the shift show a system warning? It may mean the shift needs to be adjusted to comply with labor law requirements.
Open the shift detail.
Check the warning in the footer of the shift detail.
Adjust the shift according to the recommendation in the warning.
Saving as a template
If you'll be repeating a shift often, you can save it as a template and simply pick it from a list next time.
In the footer of the shift detail, check the "Save as template" box.
Give the template a unique name.
Save the shift — you'll find the template when creating a new shift.
